Aus Azure AD wird Microsoft Entra ID
Im Mai 2022 wurde Microsoft Entra als neue Produktfamilie für Microsoft Identity Dienste vorgestellt, im Dezember 2022 das neue Admin Center für Microsoft angekündigt.
Heute informierte Microsoft aus Azure AD wird ab August Microsoft Entra ID. Zu einem späteren Zeitpunkt, ab 1. Oktober, werden die bisher bekannten Azure AD Lizenzen Azure AD Free, Azure AD Premium P1, Azure AD Premium P2 und Azure AD External Identities namentlich angepasst. Es ändert sich nur der Anzeigenamen.
In der Ankündigung ist ausserdem vermerkt Microsoft gleicht Features mit dem Zusatz Azure AD an die neue Namensgebung an (wie Azure AD Conditional Access Policies, Azure AD MFA und andere Namen). Bis Ende 2023 sollte die Anpassung allgemein abgeschlossen sein.
Neben der Namensänderung für Azure AD hat Microsoft zwei neue Produkte in der Entra Produktfamilie vorgestellt und Updates über zwei Produkte veröffentlicht. Beachte die Ankündigung für eine vollständige Information.
