Add your organization’s logo to the Copilot Chat footer

Microsoft now offers an option to display an organization logo in Copilot Chat. This update should provide a simple visual cue that users are working in their organization’s trusted, work-managed Copilot experience. The logo appears in the footer of the Copilot Chat screen, including in connected services like Teams, but not in the Copilot mobile app.

The footer uses the same logo as an organization already shows in other Microsoft 365 apps. Other theme settings do not apply.
The Copilot Chat logo is off by default and only appears once the organization decides to turn it on. Only global admins can customize company themes, including adapting the new footer settings for Copilot Chat.

Admins can also choose a short label to display next to the logo, either:

  • Only the logo, without a label
  • “Approved by” + the logo
  • “Managed by” + the logo
  • “Provided by” + the logo

To turn it on, open the Microsoft 365 admin center > Settings > Org settings > Custom Themes and select the Copilot Chat tab. Select Add your brand to the Copilot Chat home page footer area and pick the footer style.
The branded Copilot Chat footer uses your organization's default theme and applies to all users. You can't currently target different logos to specific user groups. It can take a few hours for the updated configuration to apply.

If the footer is turned on, users see their organization’s logo and the label, if one is chosen, at the bottom of the Copilot Chat screen.

Note:
This rollout had some hiccups:

  • In some cases, the logo was visible for a few hours for some users; the next day, the footer disappeared.
  • Next, the footer was enabled by default; the next day, it was disabled (the default setting).

The footer rollout should now be completed. If you still have rollout issues, don’t be surprised.
