Ende von Connectors in Microsoft 365 Gruppen, Outlook und Teams

Teams inkludiert einen Connector für SharePoint News.

In der Hilfe wird der SharePoint News Connector und die notwendige Konfiguration beschrieben.
Versucht ein Besitzer den Connector einzurichten tritt ein Fehler auf. Es ist unabhängig in welchem Teams Client (Teams Classic, neues Teams, Teams im Web), der Connector funktioniert nicht mehr.

Eigene Abklärungen mit Microsoft Support ergeben der SharePoint News Konnektor wird intern als veraltet geführt. Es laufen noch weitere Abklärungen.

In der Hilfe über Connectors in Microsoft 365 Gruppen informiert Microsoft mittlerweile über das offizielle Ende von Connectors ab 5. August 2024. Betroffen davon sind Connectors in Outlook, Microsoft 365 Gruppen und Teams.

Neben dem SharePoint News Connector fallen darunter noch etliche andere Connectors, wie RSS, Incoming Webhook, Viva Engage, Jira Cloud, Azure DevOps, und mehr.

Starting Aug 5, 2024, you will not be able to configure connectors for groups in Outlook on the Web and New Outlook for Windows. The feature will be retired completely starting August 5, 2024, and ending September 5, 2024.

Post Aug 5, 2024, neither will existing configurations be editable nor will these receive any new notifications.
Users who are part of a Microsoft Teams channel backed by the same Microsoft 365 Group can choose to receive notifications in the channel as posts by creating a workflow (via the Workflows app that is powered by Power Automate).

Das Ende der Connectors war seit dem Release vom neuen Teams absehbar. Sie funktionieren nur noch teilweise, laufend treten Fehler auf.

Statt Connectors empfiehlt Microsoft Power Automate Flows einzusetzen. Die Empfehlung ist naheliegend. Verschiedene Konnektoren in Power Automate erfordern eine Premium Lizenz. Power Automate, Power Automate Premium und Dataverse in Power Automate bringen weitere Lizenzeinnahmen. Die alten Connectors in Microsoft 365 Gruppen und Teams waren kostenlos nutzbar.
