Neue Admin Rolle in Microsoft Entra: Microsoft 365 Backup Administrator

Seit Ende Juli sind Microsoft 365 Backup und Microsoft 365 Backup Storage global verfügbar.
Für Microsoft 365 Backup wurde in Entra ID eine neue Admin Rolle „Microsoft 365 Backup Administrator“ ergänzt.
Bisher musste ein Konto Global Admin sein um erste Konfigurationen für Microsoft 365 Backup vorzunehmen, oder SharePoint / Exchange Admin für weitere Konfigurationen.

Die Template ID für die neue Rolle ist 1707125e-0aa2-4d4d-8655-a7c786c76a25.
In der Dokumentation ist die neue Rolle bisher nicht beschrieben. Die Rolle selbst inkludiert eine kurze Beschreibung.

Microsoft 365 Backup Administrator
Assign the Microsoft 365 Backup Administrator role to users who need to do the following tasks:

• Manage all aspects of Microsoft 365 Backup

• Back up and restore content across SharePoint, OneDrive, and Exchange Online

• Create, edit, and manage backup configuration policies for SharePoint, OneDrive, and Exchange Online

• Perform restore operations for SharePoint, OneDrive, and Exchange Online
